What glue for Sleek Headlight lenses

Hi,

i've got a problem with my re-a sleek headlight covers. i used black silicone (as recommended) to glue them on the housings, but the first time they got direct sunlight and heated up, the silicone can't hold them anymore and they are coming up. This sucks, because the paint on the bottom side of the lenses also peels off. i have to repaint them from the top side and get something else than silicone. Do you have any recommendations? I will not use screws, this looks like sh** .

regards, Ica

dow corning makes silicone specifically for sealing automotive lighting systems.
if you have a crlaurence nearby, doubtful, they'll have the stuff your looking for.

i resorted to using flat head drywall screws and painting the tips gloss black.
Gave up on all the adhesives out there.
Last thing I used was Urethane.

For me, 3M double-sided adhesive tape (e.g. from McMaster.com) has worked for the last TEN years.

3M Double sided tape flew off in less than a year.( i also bought at McMaster Carr.
Ive used it in a few other applications where it didnt hold up.
But it does gets hot and humid down here.

i wouldn't even try double sided tape. theres way to much pressure on the headlight cover.

I would do this but if you really don't want to do this, I would call Mcmaster and see what they suggest. They have lots of adhesive to choose from.
