Question What Is Flooding The Engine?

i see a bunch of people talking about Fd's being flooded. what happens, does the engine flood with water or something? any replys would be appreciated greatly. also how can you prevent this happening in an FD?

i would check your fuel injectors. if those have little leaks in them gas will drip in your intake all night. if it truly is flooded take out one spark plug per rotor. and turn the engine over a couple of times for 15 seconds

Flooding soaks your plugs and chambers with raw fuel so you can't start the engine, and it's a real bitch to clear in a rotary. Always heat up your engine to full temps before shutting down. No quick milk-runs to 7-11 or pulling out into the driveway to wash it without warming it up. The car is designed to run rich upon start up, and until you reach operating temps, you risk flooding the engine during premature shutdown. Search for the "ATF trick" now..
