I'm trying to get some pictures from Powertone of their slanted tips. I was thinking that if two of them were put together, they might look like a German tuner version of the stock exhaust if that's the deffinition of "slant" they are conforming to. I'll try to post them if they actually email me back, but its already been a couple days.

I have a ss downpipe, midpipe, and Apexi gt catback that sounds better. Plus it has one big *** tip cocked to the right that looks sick on the rx7. Supras, 300zx's and Rx7's will always sound better than Mustangs or Camaros at wide open throttle IMO. To each his own.

Cool, finally a unique-sounding exhaust for the 7... A couple questions :

Is this considered a smog legal exhaust?

It sounds cool to me, but is it loud?

Anybody know of a shop in Maryland/DC that could fab the y-pipe?

Also, I must say that this exhaust is definitely one of the better sounding exhausts but not the best. I'll try to get some vids of a full 4" RE-Amemiya exhaust tomorrow.

U can take a Flowmaster "Y" Collector and flip it around.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...N=120%20300610

and get 2 of these:

http://www.4zoomers.com/productinfo....=8&startpage=1

It's cheaper here at Powertone:

http://www.powertone.com/order.htm

I think Zoomers is a "middle-man" for Powertone.

If someone can host WAV files I have 3 of them.

2 are DP, MP and the 2 tips

the last one is DP, MP with the Edelbrock RPM "tru-flow" muffler used as a resonator and the 2 tips. This setup is perfect for daily use since there is no resonation in the cabin and it's a lower decibel level yet at WOT it let's u and others know that it's modified. Sounds more like a "street-legal" Ferrari.

Got a question for you guys that have installed this muffler. Why did you go with the universal, when the slant is designed for turbos? It doesn't say that the universal was for turbos. Aren't you concerned that it may not hold up to the heat from turbos?

I had no problem with 40k miles of use.

The slant design didn't come out yet when I was in the market.

Powertone sold the business to Zoomers, now the prices are doubled. Prices on the Powertone site are no longer valid.

idk, imo, it doesnt sound all that great.. its pretty good for an exhaust sound on an rx7 but my exhaust has a similar note but more racier minus all the extra gargling noise..its really nice..
