excellent my friend...oh how I am jealous of the black lines!! not that you can see my blue ones but I like black.

question: why is your turbo purple?

The car is mostly black all over. I originally wanted a black and purple bay, but I think I'm going to change it to my other option. Black and a few polished pieces.

If anyone is still looking for a kit, I stumbled across Mazdatrix website and it looks like they made one thats for sale right now, I think I might try it out.

i love DIY threads. one day i will try doing something similar when im making more power and beating on the car a bit more. for now r1 coolers are more than enough :) . can't believe it costs only $750-800 for all the nice parts too, excellent work

The FC cooler is pretty beast! Might have a look into that...which includes a T-stat. Malloy might be able to source rather cheap?!?!

Does anyone have any pix. And confirmed temps? I assume duct work will be necessary.

Also people mentioned about hoses and their ratings. And just my 2 cents. Where I work we also build hydraulic systems as well as build our own heated hoses from scratch. our hoses pump all types of glue, @ a temp. of 400 deg.and are under constant strain from cold and hot glue being pumped and trying to be pumped. So I said that to say that I would think that the teflon ss braided hoses we use @ the job; would greatly reduce heat, are super strong, and are not prone to stretching( these are what they use for these brake line kits) and though they may cost more they are in my opinion a way to exclude ,another, maybe not failuere point but an extra mile taken for the sake of temps, and durability, this might be worth checking into.I agree with all that actually drive their Mazdas that this is a key area to address, and I think you guys are real inginuetive and can appreciate the caliber that we speak, work ,and maintain our vehicles on.
Thanks fellas for all the helpful hints and opinions as I take all of it constructively which I can respect. I will definately keep a tab on the thread.-Erik

anyone have a updated parts list and where to buy at a good price?

Azcamel 11-03-08 10:13 PM

question why do you guys use the oil pedistal to feed the oil back? why not just use the stock ports the stock lines use? skip the oil pedistal.

This thread was excellent in allowing me to piece together a kit.

Unfortunately, RacerPartsWholesale does not accept credit cards from outside the United States. They wanted me to send them a certified cheque. I politely told them I would be ordering my parts from another company.

Ah the stress of living in a place where steering wheels can be on either side of the car...
