And if the Mazda reman costs more than a rebuild, get the rebuild. That's my opinion. This is assuming it's a reputable shop. Ask them what they do to the motor when they rebuild.

My expectation is that Mazda remans. would do enough to make sure the motor is running and then send it out for sale. This may well be good enough, but (again guessing - I don't know what Mazda does) I'd think the good rebuild shops by reputation give their rebuilds a little more attention.

From what I hear KD Rotary, Rotary Performance, Pettit and Pineapple all rebuild well.
