What does the TPS look like?

I put a whole bunch of things back together and now my car is throwing a 12 and 18 code - both throttle sensor codes. Where is the TPS located and how would I fix this? I think I must've disconnected it - is that possible?

Also, I found this wire loose near the ECU - is it a diagnostic wire or is it missing the connection from somewhere?

Thanks for any help!!

The TPS is on the back of the Throttle Boddy. It's a small black circle held on by two adjustable screws. You usually have to recalibrate it when you remove your throttle body.

Why haven't you looked at the FSM which might would have shown you and helped you to learn how to learn?

If you look behind the back of the throttle body you will see a grey plug with three wires going into it, the sensor it's plugged into is the TPS.

You can test the TPS to see if it's working, use the search engine on here to find the guide, and like cewrx7r1 said above, download the Service Manuals information in there too.

Sorry mate, I can't help with the loose plug, maybe someone else recognises it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies - I remembered disconnecting the TPS from the throttle body and found the electrical wiring, it was hanging down below. The car seems to work pretty well now.

I did look at the FSM, it just said what the codes meant, not how to fix them. I knew what the problem was, I just needed to find the right part. The FSM only told me how to check the TPS for voltage, etc which I didn't need to know. I needed an actual picture or description - when the wire for the TPS is hanging down past your firewall, no FSM is going to tell you where to look for it.

As for the wire near the ECU - thanks for the answer. I still have no idea what it is for. All I hope is that it is unplugged in other people's cars also haha.

Thanks for the help guys!
