What do you think about white FD's?

Thinking about maybe getting one,
but not sure. Mechanicaly it's good,
and the paint is in really good condition,

not sure if I like the white or not, sometimes I think it's kickass,
sometimes not all that interesting,
just wondering what other ppl thought about white FD's.

I wish mine were white. They're not too common either.

White is my favorite color. Had to fly 700 miles to get mine. Had a new FC that was white also. Does not show the dust easily and does not attract the cops as much.

White is ok. They look good when the car is hooked up (rims and body kit). I think that the silver looks better though. I have a red fd and i love it. But if i had the choice, i would choose silver.

I know the white FD is desirable because of its scarcity, but I think all white cars look like plastic and they are a PITA!

Sad to say but I agree. I like mine because cops don't really notice it , niether do alot of other people. If it is dirty it is hard to tell. They are almost as rare as CYM's, atleast around here they are. I would have rather had a silver w/ black leather but couldn't find one.

Yea, I agree. I'm not a fan of white cars.. But a FD in any color is better than no FD at all.

I can't stand white on any car that's remotely sporty.

it doesn't have the depth and clarity of dark colors. I would never buy a white sports car...ever.

whites nice
but I think the nicest TurboII (89+) colour is white. They look great. But I think everyone agrees on best FD colour as CYM. But yes white is definately good.

I like white a lot. That's probably the reason why I want a RZ. Too bad I'll never own one.

White not only hides dust, but paint imperfection as well. On a used car, that's something that is important. Red, black and even montego blue shows scratches, swirl marks or dings really well.

White or lighter colors don't shine as much when you polish the paint. It doesn't have that deep glossy wet look. It's more plain -- simply put. At least it's rare right?

I think silver and CYM are the best FD colors. I never thought I would buy a white FD until I saw mine in a showroom. It was just perfect and after test driving a silver, black and red one, I knew FDs in good condition are hard to come by. I think I made the right decision.

Honestly, when I bought my white '94 I was wanting Silver, but that's mainly because I had owned several white cars in the past, so I was really just looking for a change. I never have really liked red on anything (that's just personal taste) and the red does seem to need more care to keep it from fading. Black looks good when it's kept perfectly well, but when it starts to go -- look out! Dings and Cobwebs (the little scratches left behind by using inferior waxes) show up like a neon light at night. Montego Blue is a neat color the way it kinda changes depending on the angle of the light, but it has some of the same issues as black including getting HOT in the summer. CYM is cool too, for the same reason as montego blue. If I had a 3rd Gen Project, it would be CYM without a doubt. But I don't know if I would buy a '93 in order to get CYM, I like the interiors on the '94 and '95 better. Silver is the only color I would consider other than white. Does anyone have the numbers on the rarity of the colors imported for each individual year, or maybe a url???

I think White has the best contrast with the blacked out tail lights, black trim, black tires, and black interior. And I think it show the lines of the car just fine. I think it even looks better at night. Then again, I'm probably biased since that's what color mine is.

It (mine) is for sale if you want to see pics, go to the "FOR SALE" section. It's nice, not riced, or heavily modded. Really pretty much stock. I was 30 when I bought it from its first owner (a dentist who was about 40 and had done nothing modification-wise to it) I'm 34 now, and need to buy a house while the time is right. Don't want to sell really cause it's so much fun, but the toys gotta go first (so sayeth my daughter's mother) so the right price takes it.

Good luck.

IMHO

#1 White
#2 Vintage Red
#3 Black
#4 Montego Blue
#5 Silver
#6 Competition Yellow Mica

The Blue Mazda had in recent years is pretty sweet too. If available that would be a 1 or a 2.

Someone wanna explain what that comment means? No I'm not gonna get a Turbo II, I've already got a SLOW car ('88 VW Fox). I'm gonna get a house...which is probably the only thing that IS SLOWER than a Turbo II. To keep me at bay??? At bay from what? Stay off the forum when your high, please.

I hate white cars. The only way I would ever buy a white rx-7 is if I own a red, yellow, black, silver and montego blue rx-7, then I might take a white one to complete my collection. I think that white is for refrigerators not a buetiful car like a seven.

Damn. Magnificent 7, calm down a little. No one is insulting you, or sticking thier nose in your business...just chill out.

I didn't know we had so many fans of White FDs on the forum. You guys can have them. I'll never buy one.

My list:

1) CYM
2) SSM
3) VR
4) BB
5) MB
6) CW

I'll give white one thing, the panels don't get "mismatched", like with my top 3.
