E-spec meaning european spec I guess. I might buy a pair and turn them into reverse lights. Get rid of the current reverse lights/reflector.

Martin, I think you did a very nice job! No better feeling than knowing you did it yourself.

The rear lights are stock for European models.

Redline on manuals is 7000rpm, 6000rpm for automatics. Perhaps you have an automatic? Great work on that that exhaust, gzon!

gzon, I got some questions for you.
How long did that take you? Are you a welder by trade? Can any argon welding machine weld stainless steel?
I doubt you could tell just by looking, but the machine in the background is the one I'm talking about. That's aluminum that guy is welding. Those are argon tanks behind the person who is welding.

Did you get this the first time you went welding? That's about 15 seconds of total exposure. My skin ended up peeling. You can see where my glove ends and my T-shirt sleeve begins. The inside of your elbow has got to be one of the WORST places to get a sunburn... er weldburn.

But that's nothing, we had this newbie helping the welder, and he figured he didn't need to look away AND close his eyes. He got an eye-burn and his eyes swelled shut for neerly two days. He said it fealt like he had a handful of sand in his eyes. His says is the worst feeling he ever fealt. Happen to you, too?

the actual redline of the engine is 8000. almost all tachometers have either yellow or broken red lines a little before the actual redline as an indicator. while the markings from 7500-8000 are spaced out red lines, 8000+ is solid red.

I use an ordinary 180 Amp three Phase 380V (yepp thats the voltage in sweden on three-phase) weld.
Its called MIG here in sweden, the feeding mechanism is in the machine. I think the gas is CO2+argon. I use for bouth ordinary and stainless steel.

I am not a proffesional welder but use it often on my cars.

The damages ive got over the years of welding is mostly small burnmarks (2-3mm diameter) at different places....one place hurted the most........

The most time I spent drilling and making the plat connects with the cat, I didnt have any good machines so it took a while.

It took about 6 Hours inkl. the plate and 2 more ours polishing. But I use the soft-speed.

The thing about the revs. My cars beeps at 7000 rpm, does the us-models do that to?

OUCH! I hit myself, then I hit back. I had it 1Krpm off. It's 8000rpm for manuals and 7000rpms for automatics. That's where the bold red line starts on my automatic, anyway. There are no red or yellow tick marks on my tach, the bold red line starts at 7Krpm and continues to 9Krpm.

More questions for gzon.
Do you have an automatic transmission in your FD?
How thick was the Stainless Steal?
How rigid was it?

Only the Brits and Japanese and some former colonies of Britain drive on the left, as far as I know.

I love DIY projects, I''m in the process of welding together an exhaust for my CRX. (one that can be easily converted to a full drag straight pipe, to a muffled autocross setup)

Very nice.. How does it sound?

I know the piping is SS, but are you going to have to worry about the welds rusting?
