What to do about shipping damage on new engine

I purchased a new engine from DJSeven which just arrived. Today I took the time to unwrap all of the shipping wrap and to my dismay there was some damage. It looks like something fell on or heavy was placed on the oil fill neck flange. The metal flange on the center iron now has one side bent down about 1 cm.

I don't know how something like this could have happened since it is very strong cast iron. There is no other damage, so I don't believe it was dropped. But I'm at a loss at what to do since this piece of metal is molded into the center iron.

I will post pics shortly, I am just charging up my camera. I've had no use for in the past few months until today.

call the shipper and report it, most have insurance included.

the filler neck is pressed in and can be hammered out without much trouble, a new one can be installed with a block of wood and the same hammer, you just have to make sure it is clocked correctly when installing it.

That's good to know. If that's the case it's not as big as an issue but still a PIA and frustrating. I'm just hoping nothign internal is damaged if ti was in fact dropped. I've been waiting for this thing forever and want my car on the road. It seems when one hurdle is passed 5 more pop up.
