What did I mess up now? Turbo timer + gauge install
So my set up before today was a greddy water temp gauge, greddy boost gauge, and a greddy turbo timer. All of which was wired & installed by a "mechanic".
I just got a Apexi turbo timer and I decided to istall it today. I had no prob installing the turbo timer but when I was installing I noticed a lot of wires tapped into other wires and wires that were cut and just hanging there. After I finished installing I noticed the turbo timer was working fine. All functions were working properly, and when I took the key out my motor stayed running like it was supposed to.
It wasn't until I went to move my car that I noticed my Greddy water & boost gauge were not working. The needles were down as if there was no power to them. I took my lower dash apart again, and noticed that I had cut a red and orange wire that was tapped into greddy turbo timer harness. I went to look at the manuals and saw that I had cut the constant 12v (orange wire) and the 12v ignition switch (red wire). I went and tapped the orange and red wires to its appropriate locations and when I turned on the car the needles on both the boost and temp went completely to the right side and stopped. What the hell did I do. I now know that the both gauge power wires are tapped together.
I took the wires off that I had tapped and my gagues are now stuck on maxed out needle position. Does anyone know what I did wrong and how to correct?
Thanks
Ian

Just check the positive and negative connections. I accidentally unground my gauges whenever I work under the dash it seems like. If its not that, i don't know.
