I was flipping through the repair history (yes, original owner kept everything and sold it with the car) on my 93 and I came across this....

"...HAD INSPECTOR COME OUT TO INSPECT LOW COMPRESSION AND COOLANT LOSS, PULL ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND FIT NEW MAZDA REMAN ENGINE ASSEMBLY, REFIT ALL ACCESSORYES AND TEST OPERATION ROAD TEST..."

This was done in 05/97 with 60.5k miles on it and set this guy back $3000. Does this suggest that a new Mazda reman engine was installed? If not, boohoo, but if so, well you know how I would feel.

Why the beef with it? Is the compression still good?

 

No beef. I thought it had the original, now with 100K but now it sounds like my engine only has 40K on it instead. That's all. Thanx

 

yea...you should probably check the compression just to make sure like what dgeesaman said
