Yeah but that's still low miles compared to the old muscle cars that sell for a quarter of a million+ and there is only one USDM car that color.

Not for a 90s collectors car though right? I don't think the FD has been pampered either.

I'm not saying it's worth a lot right now but in another 20 or 30 years who knows. And you really think that a lot of those 60's muscle car were pampered? Hell no they weren't they were taken down rough 2 track roads and whatever else they could find.

Anyways I think my next FD will be White or Silver.

late 60's early 70's muscle cars were considered old in the 80 and early 90's... My point being is that you just will never know what the future has instored. Just because japanese cars haven't been collectible in the past does not mean it will be like that forever.

Past history does not dictate the future:

In the 50's -70's if you would had said that one day the japanese car market was gonna flourish while our detroit was going to go bancrupt, you would had been laughed out of the room. Apply the same thinking to japanese electronics, or China's superpower potential.

The FD has some real potential to be a collectible here in the states. From it's unique engine, it's handling, looks, rarerity, wow factor, how kids/young adults jizz themselves when they one on the road. Note those young adults who cream their pants are the ones who are gonna be drop the mad cash on items they loved from their youth. The only drawback of the FD is that it has a japanese badge.

So if one day it truly becomes a collectible, I wont be surprised one bit. I'm keeping my car forever... So I really dont care how much money it brings other than to say to all those who sold theirs: "I told you so"

Color wouldnt be important really.. Finding a FD in good condition first priority.. And if you get a choice of colors im sure it would between 2.
I love the look of the stock black FDs.
I love the look of the modified white FDs.
Thats my opinion. Which really doesnt matter.... get what you like.

Show me a beat up old rare car that is worth money and I'll agree. Considering that FD ownership is only for the patient and steadfast, I think there will be enough pristine examples compared to beaten up FDs that beaten up FDs will stay relatively cheap in the far future, no matter what the color. Also yes, if I had extra cash, I'd buy the pearl white car even if it was beat up. When I did have the cash, I was actually considering it.

Ok lets not get into that discussion. Yes I believe rx7s will be collectables. That wasn't my point. I'm saying that this one off car, if not taken care off won't be worth as much. As nice as a rare chassis is, if its been modified to hold an LSx, I wouldn't consider it pristine unless the process can be reversed easily.

Here is an interesting thought though. If FDs get old enough where we can import rhd cars, will the value of lhd cars go down?

Wow this thread is going waaaaay off topic. Its turned into a color ranking thread.

-TGM
-Snowy/Chaste/Pure White
-BB
-CYM
-IBM
-Pearly White
-VR (both new and old version)
...
-MB LOL

White, Silver, MB. Would never want a VR or CYM, and BB looks great but ill never buy a black car again, too hard to keep clean.

Mine is multicolored but it's mostly ssm. Have the red interior and love it. I'm repAinting mine candy apple red tho. I wouldn't reaaly worry bout color as that's easily changeable. Most fds don't seem to have the best paint now and have to be repainted anyways. Less your looking for a mint one and you love oem. I'd stay away from black tho. Such a pain

CW and PW is what we see in the states. The other whites are for the newer FDs.

im down to white or silver, yellows are so hard to come by but then again color is is the first thing you see but the engine is worrying me. i have been looking and there is a lot out there but mostly all have rebuilt engines and over 100k on the chassis, that scares me.
But on color probably white.
