Go to Kelly Blue book site....it will list what they go for in your area.
I would pay about $14K to $17K for one as you describe, myself.
But just 'cuz I like the CYM......

Just be careful, low miles does not mean troublefree...

My first FD had about 62k when I bought it for $15.5k. Within two months the second turbo went bad. Cost to fix (putting in a refurbed turbo and getting silicon vacuum tubes put in) was slightly more than $5.9k, thank god I did some research and got an extended warranty when I bought the car. My current FD had 80k on it when I plopped down $11.5k for her back last May. She stumbled a bit through her rev range, but boost was good. I replaced the spark plug/wires, fuel filter, O2 sensor, and ran two treatments of Redline FI cleaner through her which transformed the car. The car now has 85k on her and still runs great.

if everything is stock and original and the miles are correct (yes blue book says 15-17k), then i would guess you can sell it for 20-22k, JUST BECAUSE, it is VERY rare and has such low milage... I know I'm going to get raped now by everyones flames, BUT, I know it can be sold for that much if it is in excellent condition... SO for right now I'll just duck from all the flames...

Hehe, anyone willing to offer me $22k right now for my CYM w/ 43k miles and brand new 18" Volk GT-C rims? I'd consider selling it if I could get that much for it...

From a fellow FD owner: $14-$15K. From a bloody dealer: no more than $13K, since there will probably be SOMETHING wrong with her even if the dealer says there isn't, or if you don't notice it at first.

Like RYNBERG said whatever its worth to the buyer the blue book is out the window on any fd much less a cym. Look around and you'll see em sellin for 20k and above if its in good condition you would be a fool to sell for
less however it may take awhile to find the right buyer.

Do NOT pay attention to any book value, retail or wholesale, and neither to Kelley Blue Book. I saw a 93 touring go through a DEALER'S ONLY auction at $15,900 with 60k miles on it. Those who know what these cars are capable of and Love their styling ARE willing to pay top dollar for them.

Go out and look at a few CYMs if you can. If it takes you several months to even find a clean CYM, then you know you will end up paying what it takes to get that CYM.

Thanks for all the feedback. Here is my take on this. I have owned 7 RX7's, but not a third gen. I am keeping my 90 vert for casual use, (VERY LOW mileage and in perfect mechanical order), and want to add the rarest third gen if I can find a clean one, and one with a good history. I have found what APPEARS to be that car, 68k from a one owner, but they do not have the sticker or papers...(fishy)....paint is perfect, interior perfectc.....car is 180 miles away so I am asking all the right questions....hopefullly. The last one was price. He wants 22k. I think I will buy it at that number IF it is as clean as he says and IF he does the silicone hose, boost gauge, AST, Downpipe changes for me for reliability sake. Net Net, KBB says 12.5 trade 14k retail. That is always a low number and this is a rare car. If it is perfect, it is worth 20k without the reliability mods mentioned. Thanks again.

Yes if the buyer knows what it is and understands the rarity of the car. I'd ask 17 max.

Good luck spyglass...would be nice to have another CYM @ local events.
As far as value...avoid book..and other interpretations of what the car should or should not cost...value technical info not cost opinion. IMO I would grab yet another even if I knew it was less than perfect...just because, its one out of 350...if you have questions, maybe I can assist.

I and many others covet the idea of having such a rare FD. PFS sells a cym for nothing under $24k. I know people will say that is too high, but these cars only get more rare to find especially one in prestine condition. I've had offers of $30k for mine and wouldn't think of selling. (BTW....if I were in Cali, I buy that CYM for $22k in a heartbeat) And you won't have a hard time getting that much either. Im not saying you can't find a "steal" in a haystack, but these cars are getting like the Supra's and the rest of the Japanese Supercars and its about time too.

Well there were 350 ... now there are less .... insurance will not give you real market value for CYMs so remember that. However there is a group of people like me that will pay whatever to be driving a real CYM so if you like it buy it!

Is it stock?
If so I'd give you 20K for it.

ok guys, i'm NOT selling my car (as of right now anyways)... heh i said i'd "consider" selling it, but probably not for $20k since i just paid almost $3k for the rims and tires. i guess i underestimated the demand for a cym in good condition; selling the car has crossed my mind but only if i get an offer that i can't refuse... actually if anything i will probably be able to get the most for my car from a california buyer because the prices here seem to be typically higher than just about everywhere else.

mods:
apexi powerfc w/ commander
hks downpipe
greddy sp exhaust
koyo radiator
misc reliability mods...
