What can i use to cut my silicon hose?

Well removing the coupler was a successful task. Upon inspection of the coupler i did indeed find a pretty big rip, which was obviously the culprit to my boost problem. Anyhow i removed the other coupler that the cross over tube connects to the intercooler and have noticed that it to is start to show signs of wear and tear, so I have 5 inches of silicon hose and I'am going to cut it into half so that i can use the other have as a coupler aswell for the part to join with the intercooler. But what can i use to cut this silicon hose?

Hose Techniques included a cigar cutter with their hose kit. It worked really well.

Go to Sears. They have a cutting tool which is a cross between a pair of scissors and a wrench. It make very straight nice cuts.

You can push it flat and cut it with a box cutter with a new blade.

Sears cutters are nice, and useful to have around in general.

A tool that everyone has - try a razor blade and a steady hand.

Use electrician scissors to cut couplers. Those will work fine on vacum hose also.

Mark off where you would like to cut, then use masking tape and tape it around your hose to create the straight border. Then use a new sharp razor blade or box cutter. Cut along the edge of the tape and that would be your guide.

RAZOR...you guys need to stop spending money on tools you use only once.

use a wiretire around the hose and use it as a guide and cut away~ perfect straight cuts everytime. A sharp blade is preferable

OK.. You guys are being stupid. And i gurantee that you wouldnt use this tool once. Go to home-depot, sears, w/e and get a tube cutter.

just curious though, isn't the tube cutter used for copper piping, plumbing pipes...or are we thinking of different things?

I think we are thinking of different things, but i could be wrong. The tube cutter that im thinkin about looks kinda like a pair of triming shears for plants. The only difference is instead of just cutting straight down, it cuts toward the middle and back of the cutter. It also ratches down so it cant come back up very easy. I dont think this is quite it but here is the best picture of it that i can find..

Time for a good sharp knife.
I suggest a Severtech or a razor sharp Kershaw Leek
