What aftermarket starter?

my starter is shot, should i just get a stock replacement or upgrade to a high-torque one? if so, how many teeth, or who makes one for our cars?

I would get a starter from Ray @ Malloy Mazda. At least let him price one for you.

I'm not sure why you would need a special starter.

you dont need a high torque one, it snot like its gonna perform any better then a normal starter/used one/rebuilt one. if you had a desiel engine, then perhaps a high torque one would be usefull but not for a rotary which you should beable to damn near turn by hand (well thats if you dont got any of the accessories on)

Get one from Malloy mazda. With your discount it should be $108 or something plus $75-80 core charge.

High torque starters are generally required when displacement or compression is increased in piston engines, and maybe some other special situations.. Obviously not a realistic problem with a 2 rotor.
Just go with a stocker.
