WG Porting needed?

hi guys I was hoping that I wont have to Port my WG. What I have is the Efini twins with 3inch straight exhaust no cat. Wondering if the EFINI twins would be able to run straight 3in exhaust without boost creeps. Does anyone have my kind of setup and didnt have to port the Stock WG with the EFINI TWINS? Oh yea also have the PFC.

Some cars experience creep, some don't. If you plan on running an exhaust and the 99-spec twins aren't installed yet, it would be a very good idea to port the wastegate while you have the opportunity.

Another option is to add a restrictor plate back into the exhaust, to see if that will alleviate the creep.

yup, what rynberg said. you will prolly experience creep, esp in cold weather. if the 99 twins (essentially stock twins) are not installed yet, have someone who has done it before port the wg.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it makes a difference whether you're running the 99specs or not. A lot of guys running the stockers experience boost creep when they run midpipes. I'm one of the fortunate ones who's running a completely open exhaust and has absolutely consistant boost levels.

lotta-boost, that's the whole point of why you had your WG ported - the WG can now releive more pressure, and more efficiently, so you won't experience creep (which occurs when you produce more boost than your wastegate can vent)

Oh and I hope none of you are trying to run that midpipe on the stock ECU...

Do automatics experience less boost creep than manuals? I was reading a few days ago, that most automatics only expierence approx 6psi and it was hard to get an actual boost pattern. I have intake dp gt spec exhaust and havent had any problems yet.

I needed to port the wastegate with dp/mp/cb. I used a restrictor plate until I got it done and that also worked.
