Wet weather plays havoc with my alarm or electrical system

Ok,

I've done a bit of a search trying to work out what this might be, but I'm at a bit of a dead end. First up, some basic information:

Car: 1996 Series 7 Bathurst R - 116,000KMS (72k miles). Original engine.

Modifications: FEED downpipe, HKS catback, HKS coilovers, Apexi turbo timer (disabled), Mongoose M60G alarm+immobilizer (professionally installed at reputable auto security workshop) sony xplod headunit.

Other information: Charged battery, alternator working as intended, no starter/starter relay issues.

Summary of events:

this morning it was pissing down with rain, like really bucketing down. I unlocked the car with the alarm remote and started the car with no issues. Cranking speed was as expected.

I drove to work, and stopped for petrol on the way in (10 mins in). I disabled the immobilizer with the alarm remote and went to start the car. Instead of cranking at 'start', the alarm siren went off. The alarm was not responsive to the remote.

This has happened before when I had a dying battery that would not hold charge, the alarm siren was weak and acting as if the battery was disconnected. This has also happened previously in extremely wet weather. A jump start always seems to get the car running again.

The petrol station attendant gave me a jump start with a booster pack, and the car immediately started and drove fine for the rest of the journey (30 minutes). The only problem was towards the end of the trip the stereo headunit would power off and then power on again

I drove to work, when I shut the car off in the parking building, the alarm went off again. Again, as if the battery was disconnected. I popped the bonnet and turned off the siren with the key and went to work.

When I finished for the day, I checked the car and as expected the battery was now completely flat.

SUMMARY:

*Extremely wet weather
*Car starts ok cold
*Stop for petrol, alarm behaves as if battery disconnected
*Jump start gets car going again
*Drive to work, headunit powers off and on again every few minutes towards end of journey
* turn off car, alarm behaves as if battery disconnected
*Battery flat at end of day
*Has happened before, catalyst seems to be driving in the wet weather

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Nick

So no one has any ideas at all for where I might start looking for in order to resolve this problem?
