Weird tachometer problem, very laggy.

Hey Guys,

I have being helping a friend fix his FD. The PO really did a number on the wiring... I cut out all aftermarket crap going to the ECU and patched everything up. Car seems to run MUCH MUCH MUCH better without that stupid AFC thing.

Before i started fixing the car the tachometer was really laggy. And after fixing all of the ECU wiring it is still laggy? When i rev the engine up the needle seems to take longer than it should to get to appropriate engine RPM.

I have searched tachometer issues on the forums but haven't ran across symptoms like this. I have the car half apart at the moment for some serious maintenance at the moment, trust me it needs it!

Anybody know what this could be?

Thanks,

=Ben

id say the needle is sticking and creating more friction. Thats all i can think up if the wiring seems to be A1.

Well i suppose that is possible, however the needle seems to move quickly when it wants.

I am not certain that the wiring is good, in fact i suspect the wiring over anything. I am 90% sure that i managed to get the ECU wiring back to stock form, but i cannot be 100% sure unless i have a JDM wiring diagram...
