Weird Speedo Problem

I have a problem with my speedometer on my car. It seems that it can't keep up with the actual acceleration of the car. I have a blitz power meter that I have to use to see how fast I'm really going. Eventually the speedo will catch up to the actual speed I'm driving (if I don't accelerate anymore). It goes the same for deceleration. Any thoughts? BTW I have a new speed meter.

It's worn out & slipping? The speed sensor is just a plastic or nylon gear that fits into the tranny.

My speedo/odometer will randomly work and never reads correctly when it does. I'm still not sure. It could be the speed sensor. check it out I would if I havd the money.

But my BLitz power meter reads the speed coming from the speed sensor wire going into the ecu. Thats why it doesn't make any sense to me why that would read properly and not the actual speedo.
