this is weird (im having major problems!!!)...

i changed my battery today cuz my fd was stalling on me, the eletrical would cut off killing the engine. well i switch the battery with 3 new ones and the same thing happens, only thing is that now anytime i use any accessory, the engine cuts off, the hazards will even make the car shut off. i check the eletrical by putting a amp meter between the battery and the pos lead and did that with my brothers fd and they both showed the same amount of drain when the car is in on mode and while off. this is getting very weird and im kinda getting worried cuz this is only the second week i have had the car. the car does run nicely so i know its not the fuel system/engine/turbos/cooling system/or battery so what else could it be??? help!!! i checking every fuse i could find as well as all the accessories but nothing seems to be shorted out. this is going from bad to worst (just yesterday it would run but now its getting really f*cked up!!!) perhaps ill go with a V-8 conversion if i cant figure out what is going on. oh well please respond if you have any clue what is going on here. so to recap, nothing seems to be shorting, all accessories work (including all lights, although if you use any while the engine is on, the engine will stall and all eletricity will cut off). Also, the car does not seem to have problems starting, it will start up really quickly everytime!

oh yeah the weird part, if i step on the brakes/use the lights or anything else, the car will stall/all eletricity will cut out but the fans will come on, when i let go of the brakes or lights or what ever, the eletricity comes back and the fans shut off. wtf is going on???

When you use electricity the car is given a load from two places, the alternator, and the ECU to increase idle.

So, there could only be three areas that I could see that would cause your problems.

1. Your idle is set way to low & you have one or more of the following:
a. A light weight flylwheel
b. A bad igniton system such as bad leadin coil, fouled plugs, or bad cables.
c. Possible bad PCV
d. Possible bad injectors

2. You ECU is not adjusting for the load.

3. You have a very low compression motor.

the idle seems to be fine and the problem happens when the car is off well as when on so im pretty sure its not that, ill check the ecu and see if all the connections are good.

P.S. my idle is about 1000-1300 so im pretty sure its not that although i could be wrong.

stalling

Does the car run ok for a while after changing the bat? If it does check the voltage at the battery. Be careful to check at the battery posts, not on the clamps. With the car running, 13.5-14.5 is average. Above or below is a problem. Check the bat. cable clamps next. Different reading? More than .1 volt difference means the cable ends are dirty (I don't think this is your problem, but it is important). If the voltage looks ok, I would suspect a bad ground. Do a voltage drop test on the ground. Rob
