hello folks

my fd has been standing for a couple of months now and i try and start it once a fortnight or so. Anyway i got it started yesterday and inside the cabbing with or without engine running i can hear a faint buzzer noise coming from behind the dash somewhere.

The coolant light has not come on so i know its not that. Before i got it started yesterday the battery was as dead as death.

Its really weird because it didnt do it last time a few weeks ago, and the battery was just as flat then!

Also when the turbo timer shuts down the engine and all the electrics, the buzzer stops sounding, but when i open the door it starts to sound again..weird?!?

has any1 had this before?

 

oh..forgot to mention that i used a battery booster unit to get the engine started. I hope it aint fukd the electronics.

 

It's really not a good idea to let the battery get this low. If your going to let it sit for so long disconnect it. Try getting a full charge back on it (disconnect the ground while chargiing it. Then when you reconnect the battery with the full charge your ECU should be reset and the full charge should elimnate any ill effects caused by a low charge. Hope this helps. Jack

 

thanks for the quick reply my mate! I think the battery was on its way out anyway as i only left it a week and it was dead. Its on charge right now and hopefully its just as you described..fingers crossed!
