Ways to test a heater core?

Hi guys
So I bought a fd roller (no engine or trans etc) anyway it is a automatic . I'm going to replace complete wiring and dash board. My question is is there a way to test the heater core with out the engine and antifreeze running to it?
Thanks

the FD has no heater valve, so basically the heater core should flow water, and then hold pressure. i suppose you could use air pressure, but you don't wanna go much past ~20psi.

Put your mouth on one of the holes, and plug the other end with your hand. Blow in the hole, if no air leaks, it's good.

I do this often when checking things for leaks, but only when other people aren't looking. It feels so amateur.

if you realily want to test it with hot water, get an old car or **** heap and run some garden hose from **** heaps engine heater outlet to rx7 heater inlet then rx7 heater outlet back to **** heaps engine, all hoses clamped, turn **** heap on and get up to temp.
