Water injection istall help?

Hey Guys,

I've gathered all the parts that are needed to do the water injection install. When I started removing all the plastic panels from back to forward. I realized that I really didn't have a good place to run my water line to the engine. I really like to avoid drilling any holes through the firewall. Where/how are you guys running your line to the engine? How far can the solenoid be away from the injector? Should I install the pump under the car and just run the line under as well? Please post some pictures of you install.

Thank you, Jay

Oh, I did the search already.

I installed my pump in the engine bay on the driver's side tow hook, and used my windshield washer reservoir as my tank. I didnt have to run any lines at all in the interior of the car .

I don't think that I could mount my pump like yours. I have the same pump that coolingmist uses so it's much bigger than Aquamist pump. I really like the way you did your install.

For pump mounting locations, I would look to the back of the car:

1) On the floor, near the rear hatch. (Where the spare tire used to be.)
2) In one of the side compartments in the rear, where the jack is stored, or the other side.
3) In one of your rear compartment bins.
4) Under one of your rear compartment bins.

I ended up installing mine in position 1), very near the back of the car. I used my rear wiper tank for my primary tank, and attached a second tank in series.

As for the lines... I ran them along the driver side of the car, just to the right of then drivers seat, and then through the firewall. You can tap a whole just to the right of the fuse box, and it will come out under your cruise control system in the engine bay. This is a very easy tap, and does not require special extensions to drill the firewall, just a drill and some confidence.

I will post some pictures of my setup when I get a chance.

Also: I don't like the idea of running the lines outside the car, and I really don't like the idea of the pump kicking out down there.

Good luck with your brainstorming, hopefully you find a position you like!

So the tap is not on the cabin/engine firewall, but to the fuse box area? Did the hose come out through the fender area? And did you have to remove the fender liner to get to it??

Thanks, jay
