Question Wategate Control Actuator Seal?

I've been trying to track down what sounds like a boost leak the last couple days and also noticed the boost controller was not having great control of boost. While looking for the intake manifold nut I dropped, I noticed the wastegate actuator was missing the white seal around the rod. I can see the spring inside

The pre control has the white seal and I assume for proper function the wastegate actuator should have this seal? Can someone please check to see if it should have this seal? I've tried Google images and searching however the pics never show the angle I need!

Thanks
-George

Actually, that is not a seal--it is a bearing to help support the rod since it does not pull on-center (due to its bent shape). The WG does not need that feature since the rod pulls on center. Your actuators look normal.

Hope this helps.

^I agree, that's totally normal. There's no shaft seal, there's just a diaphragm in there that seals the front half from the back half.
