Dude, Get an Extended warranty...Mine saved my *** over 11 grand in repairs. I bought my car used with and extended warranty from the dealer. The warranty firm was GE Capital(very hard to deal with) and I paid 750.00(that was really cheap!) for a 7 year or 85,000 mile warrany. They normally cost around $1500-1800 but well worth it.

It paid for 2-3 water pumps, engine & turbos, tranny overhaul...hmm, let's see...what else? Anti-lock sensore that the shitty shop broke installing my suspension.

Check these sites for quotes or search google "extended warranty" :

CA residents like me are SOL...

Reza,

Believe it or not, I had all my warranty work done at the dealer(Putnam in Burlingame-they suck but, don't they all?). I didn't know any better then.

I haven't had a chance to check out Ivan in the southbay or Mostly Mazda in Concord. But I have heard that those two are the best FD shops in the bay area.

I never said that they were easy to deal with...They are bastards and will jerk you around if they can. You need to prove that you have maintained your car according to factory specs. I had to show them that I had my oil changed at least every <5000 miles before they would replace my motor. I ended up getting a buddy to create some repair bills for the missing receipts(I did do all the maintenance, just lost a couple receiplts). Had to send in a spread sheet and everything...My car sat at the dealer for three months while we battled it out. Luckly they gave me a POS mazda protege while they had my FD.

Good Luck.

Yeah, I think they changed the laws in the last couple years and we can no longer get them here(at least not online) Try the dealer.

FYI: Anyone that is looking to buy a warranty must make sure that they will cover our cars. Most warranty contracts will ONLY cover parts stated on a parts list in the contract. We all know our cars aren't typical cars. So it might be good to call the dealer and try to find out which warranty co. they use.
