Want to Delete a few things during my rebuild

During my rebuild I want to delete my A/C and my air pump. I wanted to know how to do this and also if there are any ill effects from these removals. I searched but didn't find much.

Thanks

A/C is easy, just remove the pressure lines from firewall to compressor, the compressor, receiver/dryer, and condenser.

Air pump is a little more. It will cascade into things like removing ACV and other emissions stuff which an aftermarket ECU will help with. I would leave the air pump in if you are otherwise mostly stock.

right now I have only some mods, but my motor went at 78k and I am now in the process of rebuilding. When rebuilding is done I will not be even close to stock, so I wanted to remove these things also

Get a banzai racing block off plate kit, that way you can delete a ton of stuff and block off where it was.
Then to properly remove the airpump youll need an idler pulley, there was a group buy a while back for them and thats where i got mine. I believe pineapple racing makes them still though.
I deleted AC and the airpump a few months ago. Makes everything much simpler and cleaner imo.

If your going to delete the AP you may as well delete all emissions, including EGR, AWS, Split air and ACV. Not emissions related, but you could also remove the Double Throttle... IIRC Banzai's kit will include a block-off plate for it too.

Be aware that, with emissions removed, you will need an aftermarket ECU that is compatible or a standalone. And if you still have the stock cat, it may not last long w/o a functioning AP.
This may also be of some interest...... https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=pulley

I like the tweakit idler, a little harder to find but well worth it. Much cleaner and more out of the way than any of the others on the market.

Here is a picture, you can see down by the coolant hose.

It's nice. Personal preference. I prefer mine as it's fully adjusable (like the AP), has three mounting points instead of two and uses the stock belt.
