Pettit Racing Banzai is for sale on thepartstrader, it's only 70k

For the 50/50 weight ratio, I've read that it's possible to move the transmission 6 inch to the rear to let room for the extra rotor, so the weight ratio still 50/50. Peter Farrell has done this. The drawback of this solution is that you need to do a new hole for the shifter.

And cut and fabricate a new piece for the firewall and relocate and modify most of what was under the dash directly behind the engine... seems a little drastic just for 50/50 weight distribution, doesn't it?

And your shifter ends up being about 4 inches back from the ideal location... nice. No wonder they've only done one car, to my knowledge.

I am working on my install and have been talking to Cameron @ Pettit and he said that by adding a lightweight flywheel and relocating the battery to the trunk you can get a 51/49 weight ratio or so. That's the way I'm going and you don't have to cut or move ANYTHING.

Well, except for the steering rack, which causes bump steer...

Was there any conclusion whether running dry sump provides enough clearance for the steering rack? I thought the big list mentioned this once upon a time.

I looked into it when I was still in the process of putting a 20B in my car. It will work, but part of the components necessary will have to be fabricated, and it was fairly expensive (~$2,500-3,000). It would depend on what you could make on your own, but Mazdacomp will be more than happy to let you know what you need.

A dry sump kit exists for the 13G (~$3,500), but the 13G is shorter than the 20B, front to back, which is why some parts need to be custom fabricated for the 20B specifically.

There is a shop in San Antonio (3 Rotor is the name i think) that does 20b conversions. I've seen their work first hand and was very impressed. 35K is the price tag for the job and the price covers everything...it better, right? You get the engine, single turbo set-up, beefed up frame and a few other goodies. They use engines out of the Cosmo. Their set-up is capable of well over 500hp, but the shop de-tunes the car for civility. The owner said 500+hp on the street was like driving on ice.
Dude for $35K, you better get all the hsp that you friggen pay for!
