I bought a Walbro 255 pump and install kit from Elite for my 93. They accidentally sent me the pump but not the kit. When I contacted them they then sent the kit. When I went to install the pump it's diameter is too small for the L-bracket to attach properly. According to the instructions of this is the case I should use a sleeve on the pump from the kit. I don't have one of these. I've tried to contact Elite to see if I was supposed to get one but haven't gotten a response. Am I missing a piece? Is there a simple install trick I just don't know? Do I need a different pump hanger? Any advice would be helpful. In the picture you see the pump being help vertically by zip ties and at the bottom you see an extra long bolt that shows how big the difference in pump size is for the bracket.
I installed one of those in my car last night with zero issues and no sleeve. Can you post some more pictures, its hard for me to tell what you got going on there
Think you got the wrong pump, the GSS341 is the proper pump. Looks like you have the GSS342 which I believe would mean the outlet is rotated 180 degrees.

AE, you know your stuff! I pulled it out and it is a GSS342. So I need a GSS341 I guess?
Just searching, was an easy spot since I installed mine only yesterday. You could probably make that GSS342 work if you wanted, but the GSS341 will be a direct fit like OEM.
A little late, but Banzai Racing is a great place to get a Walbro from. You get the RIGHT pump with the RIGHT install kit for a fair price and support a great RX-7 shop. Also they get the real deal pumps, you don't have to worry you're getting a cheap knock-off copy.
I've had a Walbro in my car for about 10 years, zero issues. The right pump with the right install kit is a breeze, there's very little work in the installation.
