Look into the Volk LE37 series...they are lighter than the SE and TE series and come in gunmetal or silver with a polished lip. Just for reference, I've seen photos of the SCC car (Montego Blue) with white TEs and it looks WICKED. Furthermore, I have been told that up to 9" fronts and 10" rears can be used in the FD with no problems. Just make sure you get the right offset. Also Advan is another company to look into. They don't have half sizes so 8/9 or 9/10 are your width options there.

www.gabsports.com (click on Yokohama for Advan wheels)
www.volkracing.co.jp
www.supremepowerparts.com (have a weigh in for the LE37T wheel)

The LE37 are exceptionally light....but they cost about $600 per wheel.

How do you guys afford $600 wheels?

I've got nothing againsts Fikse FM10/5s, or Volk SE/TE/LE 37s, but how in the heck do you guys afford $600/wheel?

I think the SSR Comps at $400/wheel is pretty steep already!

You will be damned lucky to find the FM/5s for $600 a piece. If I could find some at that price, I'd ****** them up in an instant.

Thumbs down

Fikse and PFS had a deal in Dec for any 17" size FM-5 or FM-10 for $595. I called them a few months later, not only was the deal not available... they denied ever having the deal. Fikse said, "No way we would sell those wheels that cheap." Fikse now wants ~$900/wheel, PFS wants like $750 - PFS wont honor the $650 listed on their website.

Great, so somebody is making at least $300 profit per wheel. That's absurd.

Volk vs OZ vs Fiske vs Forgeline...not a style question!

I had a my girlfriend's Dad (works at a tire shop) offered me some FM-10s for $1000 including tires. Too bad they came off of a Mustang, they stuck out for days... Unless someone thinks they could work somehow..

or

just my opinion...

JSpec: The bolt pattern on the mustang is the same as the FD. The centerbore is larger on the mustang. So you only have to get the offset to work... Check the offset on those wheels!!

FYI... I have seen FD wheels on a mustang (dont know the year)... but a 50mm offset works on a mustang.

I think the SSR Comps at $400/wheel is pretty steep already!
I found my quote from Fikse *Mach Vs) from January.

2, 8.5 x 17 List $925 each $1850
2, 9.0 x 17 List $950 each $1900
Discount %15 subtotal $3187.50
Shipping Handling from Seattle to Indy $70
Total is $3257, works out to $814/wheel.

Like I said, I have nothing against Fikse BUT...I can buy 2, 8.5 x 17 and 2, 9.5 x 17 SSR Comps with 235/45-17 and 265/40-17 Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrics mounted/balanced on the wheels and shipped to Indy from South Bend for $2356 (Tire Rack)! The SSR Comps are lighter and are also fully clearcoated. The Fikse rim lips are polished but not clear coated. Fikse only clearcoats the wheel centers. For the kind of money you're paying, you'd think they'd at least clearcoat the entire wheel!

I know that the cost of the wheels is obviously a deterant, but I am a huge fan of the Volk Daytona. They aren't that heavy, and they also have style appeal. It's up to you......thats just my opinion.
