probably like $600 after all the install hardware and stuff that I am going to use. You can put weight on the hatch and heat it a bit to get it to mold better, but im gonna use hood pins back there anyway so it wont be an issue for me.

hahah, i havnt yet, i may be doing that today..... I plan to use black rtv silicone sealant all around and then use a series of countersunk flat-head bolts to make sure it stays in place at speed. That plan may change as I get into it :-)

I don't think there is such a thing as a "useless" thread.

Whoa, I wouldn't use a hatch that fit that poorly...the height gaps, the tail light gaps, it all looks pretty poor to me. Was the car ever hit from behind? Anything adjustments you can make for better fitment?

The shame is that hatch fits better than most aftermarket body parts and the fit is still terrible!

David,

I just noticed in your pics that it looks like your taking the stripes off the car. Got tired of the look or redoing the stripes?

Tim

Good eye Tim! I was rear ended at a red light by boat driven by a 16 year old who was checking out, "boys in the car next to her" on my way to work.
It splintered the paint, and I started to take more of it off and think I'm going solid now that I have 99 spec body parts on and look like a clown car with 5 different colors.

Can someone PLEASE take pics of the inside of the hatch? Also has anyone put the interior hatch pieces in to see if it rattles in everyday use?

Lexan is polycarbonate. A very soft plastic. So, the answer to "how scratch resistant is the lexan anyway?" is it isn't. But it is easy to polish out scratches. It can also be "coated" to enhance scratch resistance. I've had no problems with scratches on lexan helmet visors - but they may have been coated - I hope so for the price I paid!

Nice thing about Lexan is it bends a lot before it breaks. In fact it's hard to actually crack.
