Varnish build up on one intake runner

Tore into my fuel setup upgrade project today and found something unexpected. When I pulled the plenum and injectors and what- not. I notice the very front runner was completely coated with a yellowish brownish varnish. The walls are coated pretty thick the way down the LIM. All of the other runners where clean and shinny. I have not had a change to do a compression check on the front rotor yet, but just wondering if anyone has run into this before? The motor has maybe 5k at most on it and has not been run hard at all. It was built by Glen Weaver at AZZR and has a large street port. Thought it might be some overlapping because of the large ports, but it is only on the very front runner. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks RD

I had something similar, and it was a leaky injector.

I was thinking it might be a leaky injector but wasn't sure if it could create that much of a build up all the way back up into the upper intake. Now that I really think about it, it would make sense under vacuum that it could pull a lot of that dripping fuel up. Thank for the reply, I am not as worried about having lost a side or corner seal now. I am converting to ID 1000 cc injectors so hopefully it will solve my problem.
