Question Vacuum hose sizes? 3.5mm or 4mm?

Im getting ready to do the vacuum hose job and was looking at the RX-7 store's vacuum hose kit. It says it comes with 40' of 3.5mm hose for the vacuum lines. According to http://rx7.voodoobox.net you need 40' of 4mm hose. I have 40' of 3.5mm hose and now Im worried that its no good. I removed a hose on the car and slid the 3.5mm hose over it. It fit on the nipple pretty easily. Should I be worried about the .5mm difference if the correct size is actually 4mm?

also that kit includes a lot of extra stuff and is overpriced because of it....i believe that is the same one as the hosetechniques and it has hoses for your windshield fluids and even includes alot of extra hose to cover the hood rod. But the hose is good quality

I didnt buy the kit. I was just using that kit for reference. Theres a small shop near me that sells the hose for less and I dont care for the windshield washer hose and all that other extra stuff. I just want the important stuff.

ya then just get the 3.5mm and you will also need some 6mm for the larger vac hoses, maybe 10ft or so

even 3 mm does the job, i use Akimoto hoses for all my jobs, i have compared them with almost every hose on the market and didn't find anything better than it. And it's probably one of the cheapest also.
