Vacuum Hose Replacement?

I just read on another post that the OEM vaccum hoses are supposed to last about 10 years?

If that is the case, should I go ahead and make the upgrade to the vacuum hose upgrades that rx7store.net provides or should I wait a bit till I can notice a drop in pressure with the boost?

On the other hand, if it breaks, you'll have driving issues, and won't be happy with the car.

If you have the time, money and tools to do it, I'd say do it now. As long as you're careful and don't break anything, it can't be worse than when you started. Just preventative maintainence.

This is one of those things that there is no clear cut answer YES or NO whether to do it or not.

I agree with Rynberg. The reason is that most of the people who do the vacuum job before there is a problem, typically create a problem they didn't have before attempting the job. The fact that the job make save you problems down the road is good, however it could cause you problems immediately.

Just search the forum and you'll see tons of posts like "just did the vacuum job, now my boost is messed up".

Well the problem is, I don't want to be driving to work and then my turbo's just go out. =P.

Oh well, I guess I'll just leave as it is. =)
Thanks for your feedback.

That can happen even after the replacement. There really is no way to stop every single mechanical failure from ever happening. Sometimes, sh*t happens.

Don't freak out over it. If a hose pops off, it's not going to damage your turbos. The worse thing that will happen is your FD won't be as fast as it should be. Heck, half the people on this forum are driving cars with boost problems. It doesn't damage anything as long as it's just vacuum hose related.
