vacuum hose help needed
i am replacing my vacuum hoses, and I have been following the diagrams from my workshop manual. However, i have found a couple of differences (which might be the cause of my boost problems).
please look at this diagram (the problem areas are circled in green)
http://www.neoplatinum.com/~lenny/im...osetrouble.gif
first problem is that i am missing the top hose out of the 4 that connect from the solenoid rack to the intake manifold. i think this has something to do with the egr valve. the intake manifold doesnt even have a place for this hose to go, and it is capped off on the solenoid rack. I read somewhere that the foreign vacuum hoses were different cause they didnt have an egr valve, is it possible that I have a foreign engine??? is there a way to tell by looking at the serial number?
the other problem is that I am missing the 2 check valves that are circled in the attached picture
i went to my local mazda dealer, but they couldnt figure out what check valves I needed... maybe one of you guys could tell me what part number these are and if i need them or not.
TIA

I've purchased generic one way valves at Napa and have NEVER had a problem with them a far as life span is concerned. Had them on my FD for over 2 years and they still work great, and the biggest plus about them is that they cost about $2-$3.
It's possible someone simply removed the EGR valve and never botherd to put it back in.
