Urgent help needed fd3s new engine starting problems

Hi Evreyone,

I need your help about fixing the FD3S please if anyone know anything realted about my problem try to help me.


I bought JDM spec FD3S car is 1992 model and i have imported complete new rebuild street ported engine from Japan the company in Japan said that porting is not so much that i can run the engine with stock ECU and i will not have any problems.

1) I have intsalled the engine the car starts perfectly the sound is perfect also but the car had problems with the flooding i used NGK RACING PLUGS as builder of the engine suggested to me but plugs get washed with fuel gets black car doesnt start after i have cleaned and reinstall plugs car starts again perfect is there anything special that i have to do against flooding ?


2) The car when is cold working perfect idle very steady but when the car gets hot while driving rew starts going up and down between 1000rpm and 2000rpm and sudden the sound of the car is changing makes very strange noise and dosent have power to drive after i switch the car off the car dosent start again i have to wait until it gets cold to restart i couldnt find the problem i have changed
o2 sensor,map sensor,ECU,throthle flap,coil,spark plugs,spark cables,fuel filter no diffrence Only things i didnt do is if i clean injectors can be any diffrence ? because car is old can be any problem with fuel pump ? also when driving the car around 3000rpm with most of the time 3rd gear is cuting fuel and bangs and flames comes from exhaust can be something wrong with fuel because the car dosent accelerate smooth when i hit the gas like petrol is not runing to engine and also there is rich mixture i thing i smeel to much gas from exhaust please if anyone knows anything try to help me thank you.

Might be something as simple as the gas filter on the map sensor, serious boost leak, bad grounds,etc.

You listed most of the common things See if the crank angle sensors are in spec according to the Service Manual.

The first thing I would check is your crank angle sensors. It's very easy to mix up the connectors. If the connectors are mixed up, the car will start and idle but will drive very badly. The white connector should be on top.

If those check out, it's time to see about pulling codes. I'm assuming your car probably does not have a check engine light on the dash, so check this thread:

I have also changed the crank sensor i forgot to list but no diffrence. Can be anything realted fuse,injector cleaning,fuel pump or some other ? exactly what you mean by gas filter on the map sensor ? and where can be boost leak how can i check ? Thank you very much

I have just removed injectors and they have rust I am clening them can be all this problems from injectors ? Thanks.
