upgrading bose receiver??? please help

I bought an old aiwa cd/mp3 player a while ago before I bought my touring 3rd gen. I've started trying to install it to replace its busted predecessors, but if truth be told, I'm very lost. I've wired in both powers, the relay(although not sure what it does), the ground, and the left and right speakers. The receiver turns on just fine but no sound is produced. I've been reading around, and I believe the problem lies with the fact that I'm not powering the amps. Once again, I'm really lost, and I could really use someone's help. Thanks.

John Brooks

ps. i'm going on a 3 hour roadtrip tomorrow and speakers would make the trip far easier.
