unknown nipple... hmmm

ok, i am installing a new short block and there is a nipple on the center housing close to the oil filler neck.

i read that it should be capped of. Mine didn't came with a cap, what should i cap this with? what is in there? oil, coolant?

Might want to post a pic up to make certain of it. Where did the short block come from? I know FC's have a nipple on the center iron for the crankcase vent, not sure on FD's.

Without a picture I think Dale is correct . On mine I ran a hose to a fuel filter to seperate the oil from the air .The other end of the filter has a hose that runs to the bottom of the car .Crankcase venting will keep the oil in the turbo oil return lines from backing up in the turbo and burning . I also have a small air filter mounted on the oil filler cap to vent the case .

just going off the top of my head but i think that is coolant, ill check the fsm and get on it though

The coolent line is the size of a finger and is not near the oil fill placement , plus the coolent nipple is on the rear iron not the middle one .
