Exclamation The Undertray...

Hi,

So, I ordered an undertray awhile back. Received it a couple months ago, but never opened the box. Then, I took the FD to the bodyshop recently and just started handing over a bunch of parts I've been collecting for the past year or so, the undertray included (still unwrapped).

Anyways, about a week later the owner of the bodyshop calls me up asking where this big, thin piece of Carbon Fiber is suppossed to go. I ask him if he's talking about the diffusor? He tells me that's not it. He's worked on the car sooo many times he tells me he knows by now what the rear diffusor is...LoL.

So, at this point I have NO idea what the hell he's talking about. I gave him a lot of parts to install, but at the same time I don't forget what I purchase. A lot of times I don't fully unnwrap everything I purchase just so I don't damage it while it's being transported (Not the smartest thing...I know...but I trust certain people). So, I'm thinking maybe someone sent me something I didn't want or mixed up my order ............either way I'm probably screwed since it was my fault for not checking.

I told them to keep the piece on the side and I'll come and inspect. I stop by a couple days later and the owner tells me it came in this box...the same thin box my undertray was suppossed to be in. I'm thinkin' I really REALLY should have opened the box to check the contents, stupid me He looks around, finds the piece, brings it over and it turns out to be a BADD A%$ Carbon Fiber Undertray!!!

This piece is AMAZING! Best of all, I didn't specifically order it. I just asked for whatever undertray was available for the front bumper I have and I received this. What a surprise and relief...

Now, I started this thread to ask a couple questions:

1- I'm kind of worried about having a CF undertray. Will this hold up just as well as any other undertray? I barely drive my FD, but I still don't like breakin' things and I do plan on tracking...

2- Is the Finished Carbon Fiber side suppossed to face up (engine bay) or down (road-surface)? I'm thinking up, but then what about the spillage that occassionally happens in every engine bay?

Please advice! From a happy but wary enthusiast,

Rizwan

P.S. Special thanks go to the JDM Guru! Thank you VERY much bro! You know who you are
