brand new battery but car won't start. Terminals are new and connected properly. I truly feel that it is not the alternator
car has been serviced recently and is clean. any ideas what my problem might be

 

More information, please. Does the engine turn over but not start, or does nothing happen when the ignition key is turned? Have you checked the main 100A fuse and all other main engine bay fuses?

the engine turns over but it just doesn't start. i haven't checked the fuses yet. I'm just getting into cars so that's y i have a problem figuring things out

 

Had it been running? Any work done on the car? What are the circumstances from when (if) it was running to now?

 

Check coolant level and see if it is low. Pull plugs and check plugs, might be wet. Perform cooling system pressure test and look for coolant coming out of plug holes. If none are present then perform compression check if possible. If coolant is present then you have a bad o-ring...release pressure, crank engine to clear coolant and add motor oil to prevent rust.

Of course all above should follow simple test of fuel and ignition systems first.
