Unhappy Ummm...Should I be worried?

My oil was changed before I bought my FD, and I just passed about 2000 miles since the change and my oil light has started flickering. I'm not driving 'til I can get some oil in there, but 2000 miles? What does this mean?

rotaries typically burn oil, with the amount varying on the type of driving you've been doing. The stock OMP (oil metering pump) injects a bit of oil into the rotor housings , keeping things slippery . 2000 miles doesn't seem like too many, but then again many people change their oil at LEAST every 3000, and most people on the forum (i believe) seem to change it about every 2500. Such is the life of an RX-7 owner

With normal driving, you will likely burn through a quart of oil in about 1500 miles. The dipstick range between L and F is 1.7 liters, not 1 like on most cars. You likely need to add a 1-1.5 liters of oil.

You should check your oil atleast every other fill-up.
