uhaul hitch discontinued?

i placed an order 2 weeks ago and they said no problem $120.
and i even got an email from Uhaul website that said no problem:

Thank you for your inquiry. The recommended hitch for your vehicle is U-Haul part # uhi24930. This hitch is rated to tow up to 1500 and retails for $119.95 plus labor. This is a special order part number it takes 7-10 business days to build and then however you want it shipped out after that Additional items such as labor, hitch ball, mount and wiring vary based on application and must be quoted by the installation location.

To find the location nearest you, please refer to our location finder at www.uhaul.com.

Thank you,

Evelyn Martinez

But i just got a call my the uhaul dealer where i placed my order and he said they are discontinued. Has anyone ordered one recently, or know of more info?

If so, and you could borrow one locally for a couple days, any decent fabricator could make a replica pretty easily.

I know of someone who just purchased one a couple weeks ago. The local stores sometimes get confused since it is a made to order part. I would try calling some other stores before giving up.

A hitch on an FD indicates someone you don't want to street race:

i work for uhaul and we stop production as of 1/1/07 for the 7. sorry they did have some back stock but i just called my hitch central for ya but they are out. best thing i would say is go to a local welder. Or u can find one of our class 1 hitchs that u drill for holes into your tire well to mount the hitch. i believe the one for a accord would work. let me look and ill see.

Well I forgot that the gas tank is directly under the tire well on our cars which means the class one Honda accord hitch cant be made to fit our cars. let me check some more hitch and see if i can find another that would work with very little modification or non at all.
