stock how long do they usually last? with normal to hard driving.

iam doing a rebuild and might need to get some new turbos. can anyone point me in the direction on some new 99 spec twins. i dont wanna dish out 2,500

and please dont speak of how i should go single turbo in this thread thanks.

You might take a look at rhdjapan.com to see what they have. If you just need turbos, you can usually find good condition stock turbos for less than $400.

A lot of performance shops rebuild turbos and use better parts and they usually cost around 1000-2000 for something like that. It's a lot cheaper though to just buy a decent working set with little or no shaftplay from someone on the forum for like $300-500.it really depends on the way you want to go. I just recently replaced my old stovk turbos and bought some brand new BNR's from someone one here for $1500. They are better themn stock turbos and are more reliable as well.

 

I've still got my original stock twins with about 101,500 miles on the car....With no problems at all....
If you want to stay with twins I would go with BNR's which can make more power and be reliable at the same time, however I have heard that they lag a bit more than the stockers...

 

im in the same process but already have another slightly used twins going in its a pain. but i want to go with the bnrs the best choice and cheaper than the 99s. do some research on em.

 

they are also way up and down on quality over the years. at least half of the sets out there were smoking, leaking and everything else. Such is life with rebuilds.

You're probably going to spend $2600 regardless for new '99-spec twins. I've always had a good experience with RX7.com.

Pettitracing.com offers their BPHF turbos as an alternative. I've ordered from Pettit in the past, including just last week, and I have an overall good impression of them as well.

The BNR's are another worthy option.
