hey whats up? i got an fc non turbo and it just doesnt have the power i want. i want to convert to a 3rd generation twin turbo engine and i can get it for real cheap with a tranny, pretty much everything for $500 but it needs a rebuild. anyways would i have to change the fuse box under the hood, also would my wire harness fit, i know i have to change the ecu and motor mounts but that is all i think i would have to do. if you got info just tell me it would be alot of help.....thanks
I don't think the FC harness works #1. And #2 I think you would have to fabricate a lot of things for the FD motor to fit. But hell, I'm not sure and anything can be done. I'm sure someone on here has done something similar maybe....

lmfao....if it was easy as changing "wiring harness" and "motor mounts" I'm willing to bet that 99% of the turbo fC owners would have done it.
The wiring harness will NOT work. You would have to change the SUBFRAME, not make motor mount adapters(if you've see the difference, you'd understand what I mean) or you could possibly make a cradle...which would still be changing the front subframe.
Spend your money on rebuilding the FC engine.

that is a much more expensive project than you think. the wiring harness is not even close minimum you would have to buy a stand alone fuel system and tune it $1500. rebuild the fd motor $2000 at the cheapest from mazda. hopefully the twins are okay but doubtful if the engine is bad $300-$1000 depending on the used set you find. the fd motor mounts off the rear housing and the fc mounts off the intermediate housing. you might be able to simply switch oil pans if the mount holes are still present on the fd motor, not sure on that, otherwise use the intermediate housing from an fc turbo motor or fabricate mounts. bigger radiator $200-$400. custom downpipe and possible midpipe $200-$500 depending on quality/horsepower desired. a real catback for an fc $400, bigger fuel pump $150. i dont know what kind of power you are looking for but your looking at easy 5k and im sure im missing some things. sell your n/a and buy a turbo fc. a couple bolt ons and you are in the 250hp range.
