Twin turbo heat question

I was wondering if I could stick a set of twins in the oven at 500 degrees for an hour. It is for ceramic coating. Technically nothing shoudl happen to them right? considering the exhuast coming out through them is much higher right?

You should remove the manifold and heat coat them seperately. You should be able to punch a dot or scribe a line to keep the position when you reassemble it. You could also heat coat the heat shield. I'm not shure what you have but even the 2k degree stuff may not stick to the inside even cleaned and may not stick to the outside either. It's worth a shot though, if you have the stuff and can do it yourself.

what pieces are you planning on ceramic coating? I don't know if putting the CHRAs in the oven is the best idea.

If anything, ceramic the manifold and the turbine housing.

Yeah that was the plan, The heat shield, Manifold and exhuast side of the turbine housing. I wanna strip the turbos down as much as possible but without disassembling the housings. Will it be a problem to stick the whole unit in? All the gaskets and what not are some sort of metal. BTW it is professional Cermaic coating done by my friend at Late night custom so it should hold.

Exhaust side of the turbine housing? ceramic the whole thing.

It is very easy to remove the turbos from the turbine manifold, just a bunch of 10mm bolts. There are no risks involved such as unbalancing the rotating assys.
