turbo timer burned up!

had real weird thing happen today! my greddy turbo timer burned up, and starteed smoking!
background
my car came equip with a greddy turbo timer when i bought it, its been on there for a year at least with no problems. 95% of the time i dont ever turn the turbo timer on, cause i usefually find i am driving very slowly through my neighborhood anyway giving plenty of time to cool off.

so today i go out to start the car turn the key to on and start it, and my turbo timer which was off, lights up red/blue,displaying nothing, with a beeeeeeeeeep noise. it wont stop buzzing

so im like wtf, on off button wont work nothing displayed, so i turn car off, IT wont shut off! i put down ebrake, still wont shut off. then the next thing u know i start smelling electrical burning and smoke starts to come out of the greddy unit! im like **** so i pull egi fuse to kill engine, timer is still going, so i undo my quick disconect on the positive terminal, and then it stops smoking,

so i tear into the column, remove the turbo timer, check all the wires they look fine, i can start car and it runs fine with out yhe turbo timer pluged in.

so for the hell of it i try pluging it it back in and it operates fine! WTF!

needless to say i unpluged it and am not going to use this unit anymore cause something is obvioiusly damaged from it smoking, but its really weird im not sure what could of caused it, perhaps a sensor wire grounding out?

Throw it in the garbage. They are completely useless and can be dangerous. Sounds like a power wire shorted out somewhere.

Yep. Get rid of it, and consider yourself better off.

Turbo Timers are one of the biggest scams ever pulled on the uneducated.
