Turbo Replacement

Hey guys, I don't have a Rx7 yet but I am planning on getting one soon so I was wondering what replacement turbos were out there? I'm wanting to keep it reliable (as far as an rx7 is concerned lol) so Ill most likely being running 10ish psi. I was wondering what turbos were out there that are relatively cheap and a direct bolt on/replacement no modifaction needed. Also power gain is not nessacary.

So everyone post the turbo and the prices along with any comments about it thanks.

How about you not be a lazy newb and search. The answer is out and about in abundance.

To answer your question, the cheapest direct bolt on (no modifications needed) turbo for the FD is the one it comes with....

There are no simple bolt on turbos for reliability. Installing a single turbo is one way for reliability but it is not a simple bolt on. Search button is your friend.

Best bet for a direct bolt-on turbo setup is either a set of 99 twins or BNRs.

Ok... I feel like a jerk now, lol.

Stock, 99 spec (Efini) and BNR Stage III's are your options when it comes to direct replacement turbos. Knightsports are an option, but they are pretty rare and stupid expensive.

I would not bother replacing the twins if you're just looking for reliability, unless the stock ones in the vehicle you purchase are dead/dying. BNR's will run you $2,350 and the 99 specs are closer to $2,600. *If* you only plan on running 10psi than I would not bother with upgrading the turbos (I did not notice any power gain at .85 bar (12ish psi) when I switched from stock twins to BNRs), instead focus on reliability mods (search the FAQ) and optimizing your cooling.

Just look for a good set of stock turbos. You can typically find good used sets for under $400 here on the forum.
