Turbo Coolant Lines

replaced the turbo coolant hoses along with the upper and lower radiator hoses, various other cooling lines, thermostat, and new PWR radiator over the weekend

after I took the turbo cooling lines out I split them open with a razor blade to have a look....I couldn't believe how decayed they were by the intense heat, the rubber was really thin and the interior of the lines was all blistered and flaking off.....I know they are almost ten years old, but my car only has 50k miles

all I can say is, if you have a higher mileage car with the stock hoses, you might want to consider getting them replaced, if they let go it could be bad news

it's kind of a PITA job but worth the peace of mind...the stock hoses (part# 13-5360-N3A1 & 13-54X0-N3A1) are pretty cheap....I'm not sure aftermarket hoses would fit without gettting kinked up....who knows

I blew mine apart under hard acceleration. This should definately be added to the reliability maintenance of the cooling system along with:

New or aftermarket AST (or remove)

Checking operation of both cooling fans

Replacing all the other little cooling hoses to prevent fire on top of the motor.

Maybe replace the radiator for same reason as AST - plastic end tanks become brittle with age.

I replaced mine just a few weeks ago. One was leaking and the other was bad looking. Now I am prepping the coolant system for Evans coolant.
