Turbo Boost Issue -Searched and Likely Found, Need some opinions
Hi, looking for some feedback.
My engine was rebuilt 2 years ago by Marco and it's all been great, he did an awesome job.
Having some boost issue: going up turbos boost fine and boost is as it is set (14 PSI); secondary comes online as it should, it all seems to be fine. If I let go of the gas once the second turbo is online however, it takes forever for the flapper to close and I'm stuck on 2 turbos (can tell by engine sound and the fact that the car basically takes forever to rebuild boost). Once a few seconds have gone by, it's all back to regular business.
I searched. I found an article outside of the forum ( Solenoid Check ) that describes exactly what I'm experiencing. I didn't find anything exactly like this on the forum.
So, it seems to be the "turbo control solenoid (pressure side, in the solenoid rack, 3rd back)" as it is written in this article.
I have two questions for you, if you don't mind helping out with opinions.
1) Should I go ahead and replace that and see how it's working, or should I try to troubleshoot everything (all solenoids, vacuum/pressure chambers, and so on)?
2) Can somebody clearly tell me and show me which solenoid this is, so I can go to Mazda and get one (or, would you know where else I can get one)?
Thank you,
Giovanni
