Turbo bolta wont screw in...

Replacing my twins and I can't get the two long bolts that attach to the manifold-to-engine to go in...the start getting tight fast, then get loose and come back out. Any suggestions?

I saw a thread repair kit called the helicoil and timesert. Any experience w these?
