Trying to find my old FD

I'm hoping someone on here may be able to help. I had sold my white FD to another member on here back in 2012 named "Electricit" in the Austin area. I pulled the carfax on the car today and it doesn't seem to show that he even registered it after he bought it from me. There are no records past 12/14/2011 on the carfax. I have included the VIN below here. Any leads or help would be greatly appreciated. I can send the carfax to anyone interested as well.

Thank you for the help. At least it seems to be saved from the junk yard at the moment.

Can you share details on the car? Modifications, color, condition, etc.

I know a lot of time has passed, but maybe someone has spotted it and could nail it down for you.

Could the car have come to Canada? US FD have shown up here from time to time. I think you can search the ICBC database for instance (*Insurance Corp. of British Columbia)

Thanks for the info on checking in Canada. I can do that. The car was sold in Texas, but it could have still made it up there.

As far as details, I only have what was in my signature and the photos in my profile. It was a white manual trans car. Black interior. It had a few mods, but those could have been changed over the years. The VIN is somewhat unique, so I am hoping that helps too.

Chaste white with a glass sunroof is a fairly unusual spec. I'll do some digging.

Have you tried posting up in the facebook groups too?

Just woke up to this email.

I'm gonna have to contact some people because I registered the car in Austin, paid at the tax office. They stated that it would be in my name but not able to be road legal until I passed smog. Went to have it tuned at Rotary Performance in Garland, Tx. Engine blew 40 mins from the shop. Chris at RP was nice enough to keep the car for a week. Rented a uhaul and trailer to get it back. Luckily (I guess?) I wrecked my previous FD that I moved to Austin with and was able to swap the motor and trans. Still couldn't pass smog. Sent my PFC to Rotary Performance with a list of my setup and the programmed a map for me. Ran great. Kept working on it, year after year. Moved out of state. Car still runs fantastic. Doing full brake and rotor replacement soon.

I guess in hindsight I should've remembered that I never had to turn the title in, plates changed, etc. I have way too many interests and have had 3 kids, 11 cats, 6 cars, moved 4 times, switched jobs 10 times and professions 3 times since.

Now I have to call a bunch of people and probably pay a **** ton of fines.

If anyone is interested I have tons of pictures.

That's really cool that this car is still kicking around, and that you've had it all these years.

We should ask AI to hunt down all the FD in people's backyards on Google Earth.

I used to have random people knock on my door, ask if it was for sale and we would talk about my car for 45 mins, happened almost monthly.

We're currently rural, but were building a garage, hence the backyard spot.

That is so cool! Super stoked to see it still running around. I would love to see it again for old times sake. I'm in Wisconsin now, but I still get back to Texas a few times per year.

I am extremely sorry that it blew up on you shortly after purchasing it though. I was not aware of any issues with the engine, but I was also a young guy who didn't know much about cars back then either.

We ran a carfax on a USDM car purchased by a friend in Canada. We found that when the car left the US it had 150,000 miles on it. But when it was registered in Canada, they recorded the mileage as 150,000 km.

Oddly the tan interior was in mint condition, making the car look a lot lower mileage than it was.

Compression told the story though "200, 0, 0"

Car had sat on the back lot of a local garage in the middle of town for ten years, and no one knew of it.

It did show up on google earth, once we did.

I'm so happy to see this story. So many of these cars get lost in the shuffle, it's cool you've had it all this time.

A few years back i reached out to the guy i sold my LS swapped FD to in 2011. Turns out he still has it, sitting in storage as he sort of moved on in life with kids and career (sounds familiar right?).

I offered to buy it back, he said he would consider it. I'm not sure it's ever driven anymore, but it would be cool to have the first FD i ever owned back in my garage... oh, thoughts...

A few images I found of the car when I had it. I won some sort of bracket race or something at Little River Dragway.
